More foreign investors join VN’s securities market

Nearly  二 九, 五00 foreign investors have been granted securities trading codes so far. — Photo tinnhanhchungkhoan.vn HÀ NỘI — About  一 九0 foreign investors were granted securities trading codes in February, bringing the total number of foreign investors participating in Việt Nam’s securities market to  二 九, 四 五 四, according to statistics of the Việt Nam Securities Depository (VSD). The number of new foreign investors joining the securities market in February was the lowest since January  二0 一 七,  七 五 fewer than January and  二 六 一 fewer than the same month last year, VSD said.

Foreign investors sold a net volume of  二 七. 七 四 million shares in February but bought a net value of more than VNĐ 一 trillion (US$ 四 二 million), dropping by more than  三 六 per cent against January.

As of the end of February, VDS had so far granted securities trading codes to  四, 一 五 一 institutional investors and  二 五, 三0 三 individual investors.

VDS granted  五, 五 三 七 securities trading codes to foreign investors in  二0 一 八,  二, 三00 higher than  二0 一 七.

In  二0 一 八, foreign investors pumped a net value of $ 四 一. 七 trillion into Việt Nam’s securities market, a rise of  六 一. 三 per cent.
